The multi-tasking functionalities of the SMX series seamlessly orchestrate complex machining operations within a single system. This is achieved through the flexible integration of the left spindle, right spindle, milling spindle (B-axis), and lower turret:
🔹Turning Functionality: Capable of performing Outer Diameter (O.D.) cutting, Inner Diameter (I.D.) cutting, U-drilling, and I.D. threading.
🔹Milling Functionality: Includes face milling, end milling, O.D. milling, O.D. hole machining, ball-end milling, and angular machining.
🔹Drilling & Tapping Functionality: By coordinating the C-axis (of the left/right spindles), the B-axis (of the milling spindle), and the Y-axis, the machine easily executes drilling, tapping, and milling at any desired angle.
🔹Right Spindle Operations: The right spindle actively participates in parting off, face cutting, angular machining, and end face hole machining & tapping to fully finish the secondary side of the workpiece.
🔹Simultaneous 5-Axis Machining: Integrated with Tool Center Point (TCP) control technology, this feature allows smooth, automatic tool path interpolation to machine precise angles, sculpted contours, and complex curved surfaces (such as turbine blades and aerospace impellers).
